Services and Social Events

Copford Church is open on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Revd Lydia will produce a ‘Virtual Service’ each week which you can access by clicking on the links on the front page.

The next services at Copford Church will as follows:

Sunday, 13th September at 9am (All Age Worship)

Sunday 27th September at 4pm Harvest Service (with tractor!) .

Come to our Harvest service at 4pm, an outdoor service to celebrate the harvest season (weather permitting).  We will be collecting for BEACON HOUSE TRUST that runs the night shelter in Colchester too, so please bring any non-perishable food items with you.  Originally it was thought that we would not be able to go ahead with our planned picnic after the service, but if everyone keeps to the ‘rule of 6’ then we shall continue with our picnic as planned.  Bring your own food, drink, chairs, tables, picnic blankets etc – whatever you like to make it a more comfortable experience!  We look forward to seeing you, albeit from a safe distance!

Sunday 4th October at 10.30am (Holy Communion)

Sunday 11th October at 9am (All Age Worship)

Copford has………

The Mice In The Churchyard is not the story of Copford Church.  It is the story of a local author, working with the residents of Copford, to help secure this Church’s future for generations to come.  Kes has written this wonderful picture book for love, not money, and has waived his author fees and has very generously said that any royalties due to him will be donated to the church fund.  The residents of Copford and Copford Church are much in his debt.

All of the cats mentioned in this story are, or have been, whiskered residents of the parish.  All of the two-legged characters in the story are long gone, but forever respected residents of the graveyard.  The book has been beautifully illustrated by Sally Anne Lambert.

If you would like to order a copy of this book at £6.99 each (excl. P&P), please email Anne Whistler at .  If you would like a signed copy,  this can be arranged at no extra charge!  This would make an ideal birthday gift for children of all ages or an anniversary gift for someone who has been married in our Church.
